Sweet 16 (actually 17)

Playoff Thursday is finally here! A reminder to all players that your SSC shirts must be worn on top of any long sleeves or sweatshirts.
The Thursday Super Social Bracket looks more like the NCAA tournament bracket than a kickball league bracket. With 17 teams competing for the title of best kickball team in league, it is anyone’s game. Game times are shortened slightly and six innings is the max, as we go from 17 to 1.
Pelotas Grandes and The Kickballers must earn their place in the tournament. The winner of this 6:30 pm game will top seeded and undefeated Bad Balls Blue in the first round. Runs with Beer will play fellow MGD 64 Super Social Team, Team America in the first round. This will be the first game between the two, so it will be interesting to determine the outcome. Runs with Beer is the favorite, finishing their season with 6 wins and only one loss. Team America will try to play the role of the spoiler and knock off the well balanced attack of Runs with Beer.
All teams should watch out for Chicks n Sticks. At 7-0, they narrowly missed out on the #1 seed via a tiebreaker, however they lead the league in defense, allowing just 1.2 runs per game. While this team is bound for the social division win or lose, they hope to go out on a high note.
Everyone bring your A game and bring a 12 pack while you are at it, because it’s the playoffs. Even when things get competitive, relax, it's kickball!
After this final weekend of games in social, You Don’t Know sits atop the Thursday rankings. The spring champions have had a tremendous season and have earned themselves a bye in the first round of the playoffs. As for the other teams, they must earn their spots on the second round. In the first match-up of the night, 2 Chicks 1 Pickle will face The Booby Watchers. 2 Chicks 1 Pickle squeaked into the playoff with a record of 3-1-3 but look to turn around their fortune in the playoffs. The winner of this game will go on to face the winner of the 7:20 pm game between Child Please and Swift Kick in the Grass. The winner of the 7:20 pm game between Arm & Hammered and We Are Huge in Japan will have the pleasure of facing the top seeded team, You Don’t Even Know.
